Autel IM608 Repeats EIS Prompt for Benz W220 Password Reading
One user gave a feedback that during the password calculation process of Autel MaxiIM IM608 it’s asking him to insert the key into the EIS for 10 seconds. What puzzles him is that the prompt displays almost every minute until the calculation success.
He’d done Benz key programming for several times but never had this happen before, and this time the car is Benz W220 2003. After repeating the step for many times, finally he got the password.
Besides, this issue happens on others as well. They said they’ve done this about 12 or 15 times to get the password and it’s normal to work on old Benz models.
Possible reason and solution:
Here our technical support believed that because of the old model the transmission signals of the EIS that turns rusty weakens. So they’d better try more time as the prompt.
In addition, our technical support prompts that there are three modes to calculate the Benz password by Autel MaxiIM IM608: On Vehicle, On bench(G-Box) and On bench. So make sure the connections are correct as the prompts and diagrams of different modes. For instance, On Vehicle mode often requires a bypass; Care the connections when Autel G-Box2 adapter is needed, etc.
Therefore, the prompt “Insert the ignition key into the EIS and wait for 10s” is normal, just follow the prompts and finally it will give you the password.

Autel MaxiIM IM608 PRO Common Errors & Solutions Collection
Hi guys here we’ve collected some common errors you may come across when using Autel IM608 professional key programming tool. Of course we also give solutions on them. We’ll cover
1.Server computation failed. Error code: 1001

1.Server computation failed. Error code: 1001
Error:
VW Jetta 2016 AKL, have such a problem. It says “Server computation failed. Please contact the dealer! Error code: 1001”
Solution:
For MQB, IMMO IV and IMMO IV+MQB key programming byAutel IM608/IM508 professional key programming tool, first you should update the software version to at least V5.10.
Then the general steps are:
VW software installed>>Advanced mode>>Send request>>send the VIN and serial number to the dealer>>Get the PIN code and CS code from the dealer>>Expert mode>>Manual input>>Add key(Key learning)/All Keys Lost(Make dealer key)

2.Network busy (#1) / Error code: 10008
Error:
Update and read pin code for Peugeot 307 2006, can’t connect to the Autel server. It prompts “Network busy (#1)” or “Failed to obtain the server address. Error code: 10008”
Solution:
Replace the network
Go to
System settings>>(The connected network)>>Modify network
Check “Show advanced options” and select “Static”.
Change “DNS 1” IP address into “8.8.8.8” (Google server default) and save it.
Then your IM608 will connect to the Autel server automatically.
3.Failed to read software name
Error:
Toyota Pirus 2014 AKL, using IM608 and APB112 simulator. I connect the APB112 to IM608, but it says “Failed to read software name”.
Solution:
Try another Autel APB112 simulator.
4.Unsupported package
Error:
All vehicles have this prompt (Unsupported Package).
Solution:
Download and update vehicle software you need before programming keys.
Autel IM608 Relearn Used Engine ECU after Renew in Benz W164 Success
Hello, today we’re going to relearn an used engine ECU in Benz W164 using Autel MaxiIM Im608 professional diagnostics, and we’ve already renewed the ECU in advance.
Actually, renew process is to turn off “Activated” and “Personalized”, while relearn process is to turn on “Activated” and “Personalized” in another car.

Procedure:
1.Relearn engine ECU
Replace Engine ECU by a renewed one.
Connect Autel IM608 to the vehicle via Bluetooth.
Turn on IM608,
Select
Diagnostics>>Mercedes-Benz>>Automatic selection>>Left Hand Steering
Here we’ve got vehicle profile.
See that the ECU belongs to R350 before.
And we’ll change the VIN after the programming.
Press “Yes” into main menu.
Select the first option to load system data.
Then select
Control unit>>Drive>>ME 9.7-Motor electronics 9.7
Now we’re in Function menu.
Select
Control unit adaptations>>Learning processes>>Teach-in of the Drive Authorization System
Follow three steps carefully.
First make sure the ECU is not personalized as you can see “Drive authorization\Personalized” is null.
Select “F3” for drive authorization as the prompt.
Personalize the control module.
Activate the control module.
2.Change the VIN
In case I diagnose the car, and I don’t want to see “R350” again, so I need to change the VIN.

Enter a 17-digit VIN.
Write VIN successfully.
Now we’re going to re-scan the car to verify.
On “Engine(ECU)” interface,
Select “Read engine(ECU) information”.
Here VIN is the one we entered instead of the “R350” one.
